The Style Session

Three hours, and your wardrobe finally matches the life you're living

A Style Session is where you find out what actually suits you. Not what's in fashion, not what suited you ten years ago. The shapes, lines, proportions and details that work with the body and the life you have now.

Outside Bendigo? Tell me where you are and I'll get straight back to you.

What it is

Most of us are getting dressed from a wardrobe built for a different version of ourselves. A different job, a different body, a different decade. Nothing has gone wrong. Your life moved and your wardrobe hasn't caught up.

A Style Session catches it up.

We spend three hours together at your place working out your style personality, then the practical detail that makes clothes work on you: necklines, hemlines, proportion, scale, fabric, where to put the interest and where to leave things quiet.

You finish with two cards. Three to six words that describe how you want to look, and three to five things to always consider when you shop. Small enough to keep in your handbag. Specific enough to change what you buy.

What happens in the three hours

Working top down, in front of a mirror, on you rather than on a diagram.

One

Where you are, and where you're going

We start with what you want, not with clothes. Your values, the words you want your outfits to say, and the life you're dressing for. Then we look at the outfit you love and work out exactly why it works.

Two

Your style personality

Which of the seven style types are actually yours, in your professional life and your personal one. This is the part that explains the purchases that never got worn.

Three

What suits you

Face shape, necklines, balance points, fabric, line, proportion, scale, pattern and where the eye goes.

Four

Your page

I draw all of it onto one sheet while you watch. Then we narrow it to the three to five things worth remembering. Everything else is a guideline you can break whenever you like.

A marked-up style page and the two take-home cards

What you take away

  • Your marked-up style page, specific to you
  • Your ideal visual image card, in your own words
  • Your three to five non-negotiables
  • The full style file to keep, to work through at your own pace
  • A shopping priorities list and a clear next step

Who it's for

You do not need to be stylish, confident, or a particular size to book this

That is genuinely the whole point.

This is for you if you're getting dressed and thinking "this will do" more often than "this is me". If your body or your life has changed and your clothes haven't. If you own plenty and wear a fraction of it.

What it isn't

A Style Session is not a wardrobe audit and it is not a shopping trip. Those are separate, and they work best after this one, because both are much easier once you know what you're looking for.

It's also not a colour analysis, which is its own session and needs daylight.
